Communication between Terramodel and Leica 1200 series instruments

These are general instructions are intended to cover Leica 1200 and similar instruments. Files are transferred on data cards. Leica RoadRunner must be installed on the Leica 1200 instrument. For more information see C R Kennedy downloads or your Leica dealer.

Downloading from Leica 1200 to Terramodel

Import survey data using script

1. Export from the Leica 1200 database by selecting the Geocomp FLD format from a list on the instrument.
2. Import into Terramodel from the card using the "Geocomp FLD 17-20_i" script.
3. Use AutoDraft to string the points.

The format files required on the instrument are maintained by Jason Spall of C R Kennedy, Brisbane, and are also available from Geocomp Systems. The import script is included in the Geocomp Update from Geocomp Systems.

Exporting from Terramodel to Leica 1200

You can export a digital terrain model, roadway templates from alignment strings, points or sets to XML files using TMLs available from Geocomp Systems.

If you also install the Leica RoadRunnerAddOn in Terramodel you can convert the DTM or roadway to Leica database files as well.
