Communication between Terramodel and Leica 1200 series instruments

Configure your Leica 1200 series or TS15 instrument
For transfer from Total Station to Terramodel
- Install Terramodel 10.61H
- Open "C:\Program files (x86)\Trimble\Terramodel\Geocomp\Docs\leica 1200 tlf format.zip"
- Transfer the three files in the "for Code folder" to the Code folder on the Leica instrument
- Transfer the TMDL1200_Rev1f.FRT format file in the "for Convert folder" to the Convert folder on the Leica instrument
- Open C:\Program files (x86)\Trimble\Terramodel\Geocomp\Docs\"Operational_codes_TLF.xls" and consider the suggested Leica "operational codes" for use as Terramodel AutoDraft global codes.
- Prepare a Terramodel AutoDraft ADC file to suit your field coding.
For transfer from Total Station to Geocomp
- Install Geocomp 10
- Open leica 1200 fld format.zip.
- Transfer the three files in the "Code" folder to the Code folder on the Leica instrument
- Transfer the file in the "Config" folder to the Config folder on the Leica instrument
- Transfer file in the "Convert" folder to the Convert folder on the Leica instrument
- Extract "TC1200 with Geocomp.pdf" to C:\GC10\Docs
- Read "TC1200 with Geocomp.pdf" for instructions to set up and use the instrument.
- In Geocomp, configure the station descriptor for positions 17 to 20.

To transfer from instrument into Terramodel
- Export from the Leica 1200 database to the datacard by selecting the Terramodel TLF format from a list on the instrument.
- Import into Terramodel from the data card using the "Geocomp Leica TLF _i" script.
- Use AutoDraft to string the points.
To transfer from instrument into Geocomp
- Export from the Leica 1200 database by selecting the Geocomp FLD format from a list on the instrument.
- Copy the FLD file from the card to the C:\GC10\Data folder.
- In Geocomp,
- Reduce the FLD file
- Import Points and Strings
The format files for both formats are maintained by Jason Spall of C R Kennedy, Brisbane. The script is maintained by Geocomp Systems.
FLD format can be read by other sofware including Terramodel and Liscad.
Export from Terramodel to Leica 1200
Install relevant Leica software then export a digital terrain model, roadway templates, points or sets from Terramodel.
