Links to sites relating to Windows Me and DOS applications

If you still want to try to run Geocomp 10 on a Windows Me platform, and are comfortable fiddling with Windows system files and the possibility of corrupting your computer system, you may be interested in some links we have found and listed below.

The following sites claim to show how to reconfigure Windows Me to support DOS real-mode devices such as ANSI.SYS. We have not tested any of them, and take no responsibility for anything you might try. If anyone can recommend a reliable procedure for running all of Geocomp under Windows Me, please let us know.

This method uses a batch file to replace Windows Me system files with files from a Windows 98 CD: http://www.sgmvp.freewebsites.com/WinME_DOS/Win-ME.htm.

http://www1.sympatico.ca/Contents/Computers/howstory.html is an example of loading real-mode CD drivers using a special WinMe boot floppy.
