Geocomp and Windows Me

Windows Me (Millennium Edition) is not recommended for use with any version of Geocomp.

The main problem is that Windows Me does not load real-mode drivers. This means that Windows Me cannot load HIMEM.SYS, which means you are limited to the default amount of XMS memory, which limits the number of points you can use in SDS to around 16,000.

Because Windows Me cannot load ANSI.SYS, you will need to load ANSI.COM. See How Geocomp displays text using ANSI.
